The nature of working at a student newspaper is that sometimes things pop up unexpectedly, so you have to learn to think on your feet. This is the reason I ended up with a camera in my hand so many times, which ended up being a great learning experience for me. Taking photos was a way I learned how to provide comprehensive coverage on the fly, working on writing accurate stories, taking the necessary photos while still keeping my audience updated on social media.
Attending the meet to provide coverage for The Auburn Plainsman, I was in attendance as Auburn gymnastics defeated Alabama 197.525-197.125 to secure a win in Neville Arena on January 28, 2022. The meet was my first time taking photos due to a lack of photographer availability, so I was serving as photographer and writer for was ultimately a massive meet.

2022 Auburn Gymnastics vs Alabama
I attended the 2022 SEC Baseball Tournament in Hoover, Ala. as sports editor of The Auburn Plainsman. Due to rain delays and shifted schedules, I was the only staff member in attendance so I took photos and wrote for the tournament. Auburn lost 3-1 in the first round, so the Tigers were eliminated and sent back home before they ultimately hosted an NCAA Regional.

Taking on my first major assignment as Plainsman sports editor, I took photos and provided supplemental stories during Auburn's NCAA Regional. Assistant sports editor Noah Griffith took the lead on game stories and with the two of us working tirelessly through the weekend, we provided coverage of every moment during the tournament.
It was my first time covering any postseason event and the experience in Plainsman Park that weekend was one of the more electric ones I've seen on campus in my time at Auburn.
