I began working for Wagner College in January 2025 as a media relations graduate assistant. My assigned sports were track & field, bowling and baseball, as well as assisting with any needs at home events for other sports. Alongside my work in the athletic department, I began pursuing an MBA with a concentration in marketing.

Not an explicitly stated requirement from my boss but something I wanted to learn, game notes were something I challenged myself to complete for each series of baseball season in 2026. I enjoyed the undertaking and felt like it made me a better SID when it came to knowing my team and how they progressed through the season.

Our media day setup typically has three photo stations — a white paper background, what we call the “box” with posters and a black background station with tube lights — and a content station designed to get to know the student-athletes and get video footage to use for evergreen content during the season. One SID will shoot at each station, then we have the team rotate among the stations. Photos are sorted and distributed to the team within the week.
